Day Twenty Four

I woke up this morning and everything ached from yesterday’s fun on the river! I think kneeling on the paddle board for that long wasn’t such a good idea…oh well! On our way out of Moab we went to Arches National Park, it’s known as the site of more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches. More spectacular red rock, amazing views and hot sun! See if you can spot the 3 gossips, Balance Rock and Delicate Arch. Gary came out to have his picture taken with the arches and then got bored and jumped off the fence! Then it was time to head to Ouray, CO, nicknamed the Switzerland of America. We only had to stop once to charge in Grand Junction, CO and it was Rivian charger #2. When we parked at the bed and breakfast an elk just wandered up the pavement and walked right past us, you can see me standing by the car, I was slightly afraid it might be bothered by us, but it was very mellow! We went to the hot springs, which had multiple pools of varying degrees, Overlook Pool – 106°, Hot Pool – 98°, Shallow Pool- 89°, Lap Lanes – 83°, Activity Pool – 83° and the most amazing views of the mountains. It was very boring being an adult lounging around in the hot pool so I went and had a few turns on the water slides! We walked around town after dinner, got ice cream and people watched, it’s a cool place! We saw a Wyoming license plate which brings us up to 48…just need those last 2. We saw 1 more Rivian while we were charging, bringing the total Rivian’s seen to 14. Today we’re off to Nathrop, CO and Chalk Creek Campgrounds as we’re going white river rafting on Sunday…woo hoo!

  1. Had a reservation for Arches but the lines were still too long and it was 100°. Thanks for the photos, now I know I must go back, next year when I go to Durango. Colorado is amazing and you need to return to visit places like Silverton, Durango & Telluride.

  2. And Rocky Mountain National Park. We kept going back there for 3 days and saw different amazing things – and herds of elk – every time! Gorgeous area.
