Day Three

Another fun Day, Gary was tired from all the walking Yesterday so he opted to stay back and watch the truck

Started the day off a little more relaxed Today. No need to rush so we made pancakes with blueberries. Took the Metro Bus to the Metro Rail to the L’Enfant Plaza. Which I learned from Yesterdays bus tour was a French Genius who designed DC. But like most geniuses he was difficult to work with and Thomas Jefferson fired him. Or something like that. In any Event we had some time to kill before our time slot to visit the Air and Space Museum so we enjoyed the park lawn between the Capitol and the Washington Monument. So much to see but we managed to visit all of it. I could spend days here alone! I really enjoyed the Orville and Wilbur Wright exhibit since it mixes both air and bikes! 🙂

Next up was the Museum of Natural History. Vick was kind of freaked out by the taxidermy of the animals. Seeing Elephants, Giraffes, etc.. was kind of weird. I know we are spoiled since we saw these in their natural environment. The dinosours are always interesting and I paid more attention to the different extinction periods. I don’t think I really realized that we had so many times when life was almost wiped out.

On our way back to the campsite it started to rain and we remembered we left our towels out and a few other things.. Oops.. We learned our lesson, rest of the trip we will pack everything away before heading out.. We break camp Tomorrow morning and head to Scott and Patty’s house in Suffolk, VA.
