Day Eleven

Having been woken up at 4:30am with the thunderstorm we slept a little later and had a chill morning. Scrambled eggs for breakfast before going off biking for the day. We started by going by the pump track, fun for Bill, fun for me to watch! We found different trails, blue and black harder ones for Bill and a rail trail and green single track trail called All American for me! We found one section with these jumps and I got one video of Bill trying it. It was great fun as most of it wound itself along the creek and was in the shade which made it bearable as it’s bloody hot….even though it only said 88 degrees it VERY humid. We biked our way to downtown Bentonville and had lunch at Wright’s BBQ…oh my was it DELICIOUS. I had loaded mac and cheese with brisket on top and Bill had a pulled pork sandwich and finished mine as the portion was huge! My long sleeve swim shirt is coming in handy keeping me cool…I start off by wetting it and each time it dries out wet it again in a water fountain or the creek or even the splash pad we came across in town. We stopped for ice cream, but not before seeing an old car covered in coins and a multi hoop basketball hoop which was something to do with the ’21c Museum Hotel’. My legs definitely felt tired on the way back, but we stopped for a swim in the creek which greatly helped get my core temperature down for all of 2 minutes before I was hot and huffing and puffing again! We did about 19 miles all in all! I’m now sitting typing this in the air conditioned truck as I just can’t cool down! Some storms might roll in tonight, let’s see if we can dodge these ones too! Update on car games and Rivians and license plates seen: I won the 1st round of the alphabet game….we were both stuck on X for a while. Total Rivians = 7, License plates = 45…we still have to find Hawaii, Minnesota, Nevada, North Dakota & Wyoming!

  1. Who would’ve know Bentonville was such a fun town or even existed at all. Rather miss those thunderstorms but not the humidity. ** Prediction- North Dakota will be the last state you find **

  2. Looks like a great trip so far. How come you didn’t try the loop of jumps like Bill did Vicky? I would have paid to see you do that. LOL!
