Day Twenty Eight

“We’re not in Kansas any more Toto!” We left Salina, KS this morning to head to Granite City, Illinois which is just north of St. Louis. Things we went past today in Kansas: Some corn, a few cows, a bit more corn, the town of Abilene where Dwight D. Eisenhower was from, Kansas State University in Mahanttan, KS, the Russell Stover factory, The Oz Museum…really sad we didn’t have time to stop there! The University of Kansas and a town called Tonganoxie, sounds like a fun place! We also went past a town called Effingham, which is strange, as I grew up in the little village of Effingham in England! We went over the Mississippi River back on Day 9 heading west from Tennessee to Arkansas, today we crossed back over it….half of it is in Missouri and the other half in Illinois! We’re camping at a KOA campsite tonight. After dinner I had a bounce around on the jumping pillow and then we had a swim in the pool. Tomorrow is Little Billy’s 50th birthday!
